Indian Spring is one of the most popular family friendly neighborhoods in Silver Spring.  

Homes in Indian Spring were originally built as Golf Course or Country Club Homes. The area was developed around the Old Indian Spring Country Club & Golf Course in the late 1930's. When Country Club moved out to Layhill Road in mid 1950's, the grounds and buildings became the home of the Silver Spring YMCA

The Indian Spring Neighborhood is located just inside the Beltway in Silver Spring, Md 20901, east of Colesville Road (Route 29). The southern border is Franklin Avenue and the west, University Boulevard.

The houses are charming  colonials, cape cods and ramblers built from the early 1940's through the mid 1950s.  There are just over 800 single family homes in the Indian Spring subdivisions.

Schools
Montgomery County public school system is well known as one of the best in the nation. Public schools serving  Indian Spring:

Highland View Elementary School,
Silver Spring International Middle School,
Northwood High School,

At the high school level the Downcounty consortium is available giving students a choice regarding their academic area of study. The five high schools in the Downcounty cluster include Montgomery Blair, Albert Einstein, John F. Kennedy and Wheaton.

The professionals living here may have families, but they're not so suburbanized that they don't enjoy the art films, live music, and trendy food that are trademarks of the new Silver Spring."  - Washingtonian Magazine.

Indian Spring is, indeed, a lovely and popular community.  One of the few communities n Montgomery County with ample wooded lots and a variety of home styles. 

It's beautiful just driving through.
