Weekend Real Estate Wrapup and Mopup...!!!

By
Title Insurance with Patriot Land Transfer, Inc.

So where are we exactly on this last day of February...???

We all know Spring is the season for buying and selling real estate...And even though it's nearly a month before Spring is officially here, we ought to at least have some indication by now as to how our year is shaping up...

Oh, I know the Congress hasn't done much to restore consumer confidence, and government 'interference' doesn't put many consumers at ease, but those of us who need to make a living in this business need to develop and sharpen that 6th sense to be able to navigate in these rough waters...in spite of what our legislators are doing...

The tulips, crocuses, and daffodils have broken through the soil and show signs that in a few weeks they will herald spring and warm weather by their grandiose displays which have been brewing underground all winter...they, like us, haven't taken the winter off...it just seems that way...

We need to take a lesson from them...

Congress can't affect flowers blooming, snow falling, ice thawing, grass growing, weather warming, etc..   Those of us in real estate related industries must re look at the 'growing fields'...people are always marrying, divorcing, dying, up sizing, downsizing, relocating, entering the American Dream of home ownership from renting...

Even when unemployment is in double digits at 10%, there are still 90% who still have housing needs that are employed...

We, in our area, have witnessed a slight 'settling' of the dust from the bubble burst...oh, mind you, it's not back to business as usual by any means, but it's a light at the end of the tunnel...

Coming out of this downturn in the market may not occur as steeply as the 3 or 4 years we have watched the market tank...no, the recovery is more apt to be measured, slow, gradual, and deliberate...

Ultimately, that may prove to be a good thing...it can cause us to carefully plan our market strategies rather than create reactionary and hasty business moves...

This weekend, let us resolve to notice the beauty of nature around us as it signals the coming of Spring, and let us pattern our work plans accordingly, picking and choosing our route carefully, much as we would select just the right seasonally ripe fruit and vegetables in the supermarket...

Oh, and about Congress and government...remember them in prayer as you attend church services this Sunday...!!!

Great post!      I do plan to "look at nature" (we should all do this as often as possible), and I agree that there seems to be a very slow/tip toe kind of "busyness" occurring right now, and it is a little early for my resort based area -- a good omen, then???

Fran, thank God Congress can't affect flowers blooming. We would all be getting taxed on fertilizer. Now some would say, tongue in cheek, Congress is full of fertilizer, but I won't go there. Oops... already did.

For those that don't believe in a higher power, I cite Mother Nature.

And Congress can be full of fertilizer now and again;)

You can grow what we call Turkey figs which are delicuous. . The little Italian figs need a pot and have to come in in the winter

Fran,

Great Post! I agree it is a wonderful thing that Mother Nature has power of congress. I also believe it is you and I who have power over our lives. Check out my latest post. Where have all the 12th Men Gone????

I assume as a sports fan you might like it. Just an FYI. One of my brothers played football for Texas A&M and another brother played for the Air Force Academy. They both played in bowl games against Notre Dame and both won those games. As a proud Catholic, in my Dad's office he has a plaque that says

Huggins Boys 2 Notre Dame 0

He always said if his boys did not go to Notre Dame and play football he wanted them to play for teams that could be as good as Notre Dame on the Football field. He is just a little proud.
