How do you find the best Home Inspector around? Do your own homework! Anyone can claim to be certified or having attended a school or having XXX years of experience.

While Ohio does not regulate Home Inspectors there are certifications that the State of Ohio offers. These certifications come from The Board of Building Standards of Ohio.

Anyone can inspect your new home. But are they really inspecting that it is built correctly? Do the use the states standards? Do they hide behind being a generalist while acting as an expert?

Our certifications are verifiable. You can view them here: http://www.yourhomesok.com/why_us.htm

Ask your Realtor® if they have ever checked to see if the company that they recommend is competent to inspect your home are they just recommending someone that they like?

Anyone can become certified by The State of Ohio if they are willing to take the time. The problem is it takes to much time to get these certifications. Anywhere between 9-15 years. It is a lot easier for them to join a club and get their certifications, not recognized by the state, and go directly into business.

Remember how something is called out and how you put it in a request to remedy could make or break your deal!!!!

It's bad out here in California, too. If one has enough money to print up some business cards and brochures, voila! one is a home inspector. I keep writing my legislators monthly trying to get one of them to sponsor some legislation, but after seven years, nothing. It's not an issue that can bring them millions of campaign dollars.

So lets put it this way if it takes  years to get certified in the state of Ohio why would any one want to wait that long . and just because One is not  dose not make him unworthy . I have been doing Home inspections for 4 1/2 years now three years a s a NACHI certified inspector . And its not just  having the money to print business cards or Brochures , its having the knowledge and the expertise . & experience to do so .  I wish some people would just let things be . and quit complaining about one Lisc. Or Not Lisc. The certification and where it comes from . with a state that has no Lisc. policy and no cert policy .   Those who do bad business and don't follow the standards are  not going to be in business long anyway . There are many Home inspectors  just as there are Plumbers and electricians and its bad practice to down grade anyone else who is in the same line of work ,...........have a good day and God Bless .

I do not me to be mean, but are your qualifications from the State of Ohio or ICC?

You are a Generalist. I am an Expert. That is all that I am advertising.
