Living in Wilmington NC, we don't see much snow. There rare exceptions of course, but today, when so many Southern States were graced with the white stuff, the coastal bands kept the snow from reaching our area. I was little disappointed as I was ready with my camera for some intriguing shots.

Nostalgia crept in for my snowy days up North, so I searched for a winter scene photo from one of my NY homes, and came up with this one.

Taken in our Hudson Valley NY home, in the Village of Montgomery. This was the view of our backyard from one of the upstairs bedrooms on a peaceful winter white day!

The fresh blanket of snow looks nice this morning but after a few days I'll be happy to see it gone... Been a long winter...

Ginger - I just love Wilmington. My brother lived there for about 11 years while he was working in the movie business. What a great town, and the history is simply amazing. Last time I was there, it was June and the no-see-ums were out. They didn't like me, but my hubby really attracted them. I took nail polish to his legs. It was a hoot. Beautiful pix.

Ginger, I was going to say, that didn't look like Wilmington to me. What a pretty photo, growing up in New England, that was a familiar scene. I miss NE but I don't miss the long winters!

Teri, One of the main reasons we bought the home was the lovely view. I've always been a sucker for a red barn.
