Atlanta Homes Sale

Your ActiveRain blogs show up quickly on a specific search, so, why does it take so long for my website to do the same? Because google does not find a new site and say OOOH look at this! Lets put this on the first page! It doesn't work that way and probably never will. You may get an initial surprising placing, but, then the dreaded sandboxing begins.

Being sandboxed is not a bad thing, it happens to just about everyone. You often get that initial surge when your new site first arrives, then, ughhh, reality. Some call sandboxing a myth, but, we've published enough sites to see it's effect. Now is not the time to buy into a link farm for a quick fix, this actually can be quite detrimental. Write quality blogs and link them to your site, you'll climb up eventually.

The point is the internet business you planned for Spring time should have been conceived at least 4-6 months ago! You want internet business this Summer? You had better be setting up that site NOW. There is no quick fix, just a good plan and a little time in the sandbox...

Websites are like weekly edition newspapers.  Blogs are like hourly up to the minute newcasts. I agree with the timing. It's like clothes stores buying their fall wear in spring and staying a step ahead to prepare for the "planting" and the "harvest" of the real estate cycle.

One of the benefits for using ActiveRain - high rankings on Google. Web sites do seem a little bit slower in getting up there on the search engines. Thanks.

Frank and Jodi, I couldn't agree more, it takes time to get thru the Google rankings to page 1.  Sometimes, I'm really happy to be found on page 21.  :)  Working now will lead to more later.  Like any lead generating, it has to percolate.

Andrew, Yep, no quick fixes, I like the reference to farming. Those folks know how to plan.

Michael, the blog is a sprint, the website is a marathon.

Richard, content, more content, and relevance, once again, this is a marathon!

Use the Active Rain and other established social media/articles to drive business to your website. My "recent came froms" are mostly Trulia/Zillow and Craig's List...with some AR thrown in. Also...keep adding to your site. Search engines love active sites...so I add blogs that I like...and or write new pages or add paragraphs to established pages. Activity seems to attract Google too.

Karen, yes, activity is a must, we have gotten to the point where blogs and such have driven our sites to the point that they provide their own high ranking.
