So, my husband and I are Investors. We have a seven unit apartment complex and several single family residences as well.
Last week, we bought our first mobile home. Upon our first inspection, the home appears to be dirty but not disgusting. Today, after the previous owners had vacated the property, we went to assess the damage and start clean up. I'm fairly sure that the woman living there did not have a mop, toilet brush, broom or soap of any kind. There were at least 400 active colonies of roaches thriving on just the countertops alone. Nonetheless, we sucked it up, cleaned it out (at least 20 huge black contractor bags full) and bug bombed. (sad for the roaches, but I'm sure they lived a very full life) Tonight, we will return to remove the bugs and sanitize all of the surfaces. I will be painting the cabinets and walls and steam cleaning all of the carpets. This mobile home should be occupied by the middle of next week. Hooray!
This was actually one of the least disgusting places I have been in during the past few years of our experience in this industry. I'm sure that you would rather not read those horror stories as it is almost lunch time.....and I prefer not to relive them.
As always, thanks for reading and stay tuned for more updates as Joey and I venture deep into the wonderful world of mobile homes

I don't know how you do it. I was a landlord for 6 months 30 years ago, it cured me.
