Inspirational Power Quote

Don't Fall Victim to Suffering

"Although the world is full

of suffering,

it is also

full of the overcoming of it."

 Helen Keller, humanitarian

As I see it. . . . . . . .

There are times that we find ourselves in the position of having people around us that are suffering great stress, anxiety or faced with circumstances that may seem to be overwhelming with no solutions.

As challenging as their situation may seem there are choices, to fall victim to the suffering and seek solutions.

The choice is to overcome our suffering and seek solutions.

To overcome the suffering in ones life will take strength to step back and to recognize the source of the suffering. At this point a conscious decision has to be made that the situation is no longer acceptable to us and we want change and willing to act on it now. At that moment there is a breakthrough of overcoming the suffering.

That breakthrough is our choice and the solutions are within our reach.

Don't fall "victim" to anything. Playing victim may seem easier at the time, but it is a cheat and will make you miserable and keep you down.

Hi Lou, I know people that 'feel' like they are suffering everyday of their life - they have allowed themselves to be victimized by their problems. It's sad.

Hi Lou - I've always said: some experiences are painful but suffering is optional.

It is a strain to be around suffering and I wonder how Mother Theresa did it. Suffering long term, holding grudges and resentments is a choice, I find. Although for some experiencing traumatic loss, it is difficult to see how they can let it go.

One of my favorite dittys is " Before enlightenment, chopping wood, hauling water. After enlightenment, chopping wood, hauling water."

Be well. Choose wisely

Hi Leslie

When we become a victim we pay a very high price.

Thanks for your comments.

Hi Sandy

You are correct it's very sad to see people that allow themselves to become and remind a victim.

Hi Jancie

I feel MotherTheresa lead a life of purpose, and a life of fulfillment. The suffering was the payment.

Thanks for your comments.

Hi Diane

We can always find things to be grateful for; sometime we may just have look a little more.

Thanks for your comments.
