The single family housing market is still feeling the effects of a market  with an over supply of single family housing in most areas of the State of Floirda. According to data provided by the Florida Association of Realtors, sales of existing single family homes in the State were down 4%. Some areas of the State have seen sales go as low at 14% this past March as compared to March of 2006. A few areas have actually seen an icrease in sales this March as compared to March 2006. Ocala area has seen existing single family home sales increase 2%. The Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater area was reflective of the State average as it saw sales slow to a negative 4% in March 2007 vs. March of 2006. One must note that in this area average home sales declined but median sales price still increased about 4% from last March which is encouraging news for the Tampa Bay area.
