The other day, as I was creating a blog post, I saw that my list of groups on Active Rain was expanding quite a bit. I wondered if it was time to reevaluate my participation in each group. I currently have over 50 groups tagged, although I don't think that I have contributed to each and every one over the last few months. As many of you know, I frequently post to the animal groups, as well as some of the photos (speechless sunday, wordless wednesday, etc) ones.
Is there some etiquette involved in regards to group membership? Should I only be a member of a group if I actively and frequently contribute posts to it? How many groups are you a part of? I welcome your feedback!

Good Morning Kristin, I belong to about 30 or so groups and pretty much post to all of him different things and different times. I like the groups that are more flexible as to what one can post.
I'm not the serious type and I'm not on a mission either or trying to prove that I'm smarter than a fifth grader, but my sense of humor is a little to spicey for some handle.

Sometimes Active Rain can get quite overwhelming. I belong to a few groups that I have an interest in a bit more than occasionally, otherwise I just poke around as I need to.
there's nothing wrong with being a member of multiple groups. Each one has its own members and it's good to see the blogs that are posted in the. Hey, if you belong to many groups, it can only help to enhance the possibilities that you'll find someone who may eventually become a friend or a referral source...or better yet, both!

Hi Kristen-I am suscribed to LOTS of groups. My thinking behind it is, that I have a interest in the group to see what they have to say and maybe I'll learn something valuable. So while I don't post to all of them. They are there for when I get the time to go thru them. I better get going cause it's March and haven't done it at all. They are too hard to find again if I unjoin(probably not a word)so I leave them there and that way they are there when I'm ready then I'd probably clear some of them out. I think I'm all caught up. :-) That blog with the puppy mills is so SAD! Those people that have those should be in jail. Have a great day my friend.

There is so much here on the rain. I don't participate and post to the groups I belong to, worse than that are all the posts I have bookmarked that I have to follow up on. Have a great one Kristin.
Kristin, I think a lot of us focus on specific groups, however we all may mix it up once and a while. Stir the pot!
