Marg, I'm starting to wonder. We all know that audits are going to mean changes/repairs/costs ...
And yes, I care, BUT ....
Originally, I was all for the idea. A while back, I started doing some things at my house (and have been, for quite some time, even before we ever heard about the audits).
After spending thousands and thousands, and getting as green as I could afford to, and now sitting here very cold (I'm being good by not turning up my thermostat), I'm not seeing any savings at all on my energy costs ... in fact, I've made things worse (for my wallet), since I had to refinance my mortgage to make some drastic changes; and now the mortgage payment is higher and the savings is nil.... Also, because I did all these changes PRIOR to January 1, 2009, I don't even qualify for any of the new tax rebates (which sucks ... everyone should get them if the homes have been 'done').
So, right now, I'm not thrilled, but if things improve/change, I may change my mind (again). :)
