This one is for you, Carl! The first ladybug in my garden this year

I thought the contrast between the ladybug and the dill flowers and leaves was nice.

Ladybug in the dill

Ladybugs just love dill. This one is probably looking for a good place to lay eggs this evening. Their babies hatch into fearsome looking creatures that gobble up aphids and other plant pests. As organic gardeners, we welcome ladybugs, and plant dill as host plants for them and the swallowtail butterflies.

I also think the contrast is nice. It's better than nice. In fact, I have just three things to day:

  1. Robin, dill, and ladybug rocks!
  2. Robin, dill, and ladybug rolls!
  3. Robin, dill, and ladybug rules!

She's a pretty little ladybug. I can't say I've ever seen a ladybug in the wild, but the nurseries seem to sell a lot of them in the spring time.

Thanks, everyone! I just got back from my trip, and checked today and found that ladybug is still doing fine on the dill. More ladybugs will be joining her soon!
