Are you waiting for buyers to come to you? or are you going out to meet buyers?

Reblogging this post about Everard as it has a lot of valid points. It also echoes the sentiments left by David Serle's post Get out of the Business. We Do Not Need You!!

March can be extremely difficult for many, and it should also be your most productive month for that reason. So get out there and meet your customers and don't wait for them to find you.

About 2 years ago now, we went to Europe as the first team of realtors representing the United States in an unprecedented move to meet european buyers head on. The show, in Utrecht holland, was part of a 2 day International exposition at the Second Home International Exposition.

Buyers were eager for information and we made it readily available for them.

The premise of the show was to show them the bargains to be had in Florida. When the prices in florida were high 2 years ago, Northern Europeans were still used to paying even more for housing and living expenses. Plus the euro was higher compared to the U.S so this allowed them to get more for the buck when purchasing in florida. Right now similar conditions are on the books and represents yet again a great time for them to buy.

When we came back from the show, we had landed 39 solid prospects. You just can't sit there and wait for these potential buyers to come to you. So my advise is get out there and meet the buyers on their own turf.

We hope this lights a fire in some people to get out there in this tough market. If anyone is interested in doing a future exposition with us, let me know. We try to do this several times a year for both canadian and european buyers but we're always interested to meet new demographics.

Hi there. Just wanted to log in to say i wholeheartedly appreciated your assistance with my post. I never did take into consideration that load time had to do with WHERE i was located and how hyped up my computer was. Certainly did not want to offend a professional as you and others here on Active Rain. Thank you for bringing clarity and education my way.

HI Diane, i didn't forget about you. I will revisit that post later today and give you more input. For now i would suggest the following to help you out:

1. go into your iE explorer header to internet options and delete all your cookies and temp files.

2. as mentioned, make sure big programs like itunes or aol are off and not running in the background. This also includes any antivirus programs like norton.

3. go to Majorgeeks.com and download adaware and spydoctor. You will have to pay for the service but it will help rid your system of stubborn imbedded lines in your regeditor.

4. make sure to restart your computer after utilitizing something like itunes, aol or norton. Do this prior to going back online.

5. try to upgrade your graphics card. Most computers have good sound cards, but graphic cards are not quite up to speed with the innovation of new programs and graphics used on people's blogs.

6. the rest is pretty much up to your isp and the speed at which your processor runs + the kinds of widgets, and the size of the images and videos that people have embedded within their blog. You were able to load our pages fast because we optimize every image. Others drag them straight from their camera into AR. That causes major lag. Never use PNG, TIFF or TGA images. jpeg and gif are preferable. Youtube is actually one of the best places to place video as they compress the heck out of videos. They may not come out crisp but they ensure that loading time is fast.

"2 day International exposition at the Second Home International Exposition."

This sounds incredible. If I could travel to Europe, write off the trip and also make home buyer contacts..that would be fantastic. We are the Christies affiliate here in Austin Texas and have "some" international connections but this sounds more far reaching and I always do well in personal meetings with potential clients. Where do I learn more about this? Thanks!

Hi russel, it depends on what your market is. These expositions focus on a primary market. Give us some insight into your international base so we can help you further.
