How many domain names does it take to make a Realtor?

Ten, Two, one hundred?  I have about ten now.  I'm not sure how this will effect my website ratings.

Every time I have a great new idea or just hear a name I like I go and buy the domain name.

Will it make my rich?  Don't know.  Will it help drive more business my way?  Maybe.

I do know that its kind of fun, like owning a little part of the internet.

Let me know your thoughts.

What a great idea!  I own a few, 3 or 4 and have thought about buying more but then another thought enters my head and that new one forces out the old one.  I need more time in the day!

I would definitely not do this. A lot of people think it will help with rankings but you are much much better off having a single website and simply creating more pages on different topics. You consolidate the "juice" this way rather than trying to rank 10 sites. Even if you forward them all to one you really arent doing anything to help you. Unless you really want 10 different sites and try to rank them all that is which is 10 times as much work.

Buying domain names can be addictive! I have a few myself, but I think I'll only work on the ones that really mean something to me. It does feel kind of neat to be able to buy a piece of the internt thought - you're right!

Hi Shelly,

I found myself buying up every cool domain name I could think of that could be of value to my real estate career some day.  Now that someday is here and I am trying to figure out cool and creative ways to utilize them...Meanwhile I shell out several hundred bucks a year to keep them safe from my competitiors!  I am going to have the most expensive domain names ever once I finally use them! LOL

But just having a domain registered does nothing to build page rank. Its not until the site is built that Google can begin indexing and officially exists. Prior to that its just costing you money.

Thanks for the input.  I do direct some of them to my site.  But I guess there is a part that feels like you are getting ahead of the competition. I also get the domain name when I know I want to expand my business that way even if it is  for the future.
