At today's REBar Camp in Fredericksburg, Virginia, I felt like I was the only one in the whole room who still hadn't figured out Twitter - or even figured out why it might be important to figure out Twitter.  And as I sat there in this room full or Tweets or whatever they are, I thought about Jon Stewart's show last night, and his hilarious Twitter segment.  If you missed last night's Daily Show, just click on this:  Jon Stewart Shakes His Fist At Twitter on The Daily Show.

We had a full day of, with sessions on Twitter, Frankly MLS, SEO, using data effectively, Whuffie and then lots of beer.  And after I downloaded my camera, I really wished I'd taken more pictures!

Here are the ones I did take -

Frank Llosa did a presentation of Frankly MLS, a service that allows agents to post photos of homes they show that might now have a more interesting story to tell than the listing agents virtual tour.

And here I am with Kim Wood and Sarah Cooper.

Audrey June-Forshey is taking a picture of me taking a picture of her, and we had identical cameras.

And here we have Jeff Turner and Monika McGillicuddy, who drove down from New Hampsire with her husband and blog buddie Ann Cummings.

There are going to be lots more of these gatherings on the east coast, and by the time I'm ready for the next one, perhaps I'll have figured out Twitter!

OK - here's a sort of sloppy way of finding it - try this link, then  click on the first thing that comes up.

Patricia - it's just being seen and available. If you're there, eventually you'll connect with people just like on AR. You're building a virtual community.

I was wanting to make it up there... but it wasn't to be.  And I guess it is a good thing as I haven't had a voice for 4 days now.

Mornin Pat! Looks like a whole lot of fun! I don't understand twitter either, not at all. I can't figure out who would tweet me, who I would tweet, other than people here, I just don't get it. And where have I been? I had to look up REBar camp. Maybe if I had twitter I would have known.

I don't get twitter and I don't even want to.  I can't imagine why anyone would care to know my every step and/or thought.

If I remember correctly a few years ago it might be considered to be an insult to be called a "Twit" How about today do you want to be a "Twit".

7:33am • #20

Sounds like you had a productive day and had a good time of top of everything else. I haven't really looked into Twitter and at this point I'm not going to. There's only so much time in a day and sort "Twits" don't fit right now.

Pat...

I so wish I could travel. Most of these folks are so near and dear to my heart. I would love to be able to spend time with all of them, yourself included. I'm hoping next year will be better. Lord knows I have paid my dues this year with my heath. Maybe I can get away and attend some of these events over the summer. Wish me luck my friend :)
