Do REALTORS give away their hard earned branding when uploading videos?

Think About It for A Second:

- Does your embeddable video widget have your name/logo on it or your hosting provider's name?

- Does Google point to the video on your own website or on your video hosting site?  Who gets the benefit of that link - you or them?

- do you have 100% control over the video widget that you use in terms of the colors and additional content that you want to present to users?

What Is Changing?

You'll have the following available to you within 48 hours by becoming a member at http://www.vidlisting.com

- you'll have a fully customizable embeddable video widget.  you'll even be able to create "one off" video widgets that are different from your default widgets.  this is more than just some text and a photo wrapped around someone else's branded video widget.  This will be your video widget - however different that you want to make it.

- Best of all, you'll be able if you want to redirect viewers back to your own website to view the video.  You've made the investment in your website, why not send video viewers there?

- You'll have 100% control of the metatags on your video player for each and every video that you upload.  This means that you'll be able to initially change title, description, and keywords and we'll include other optimization capabilities after launch. The only place where Google will index your video will be on your website even if your video is shared 1000s of times.

In short, we've completely automated all of the custom branding work for widgets and video player pages that we've been doing manually since early 2007. By automating, we can now make the branding and SEO benefits available to Vidlisting customers during their trial period as well. Any videos that you upload into custom branded widgets during will always be available to you even if you continue as a free customer.

We are currently involved in soliciting feedback and user testing with various bloggers and others. We expect that we'l be live with these features by Friday, 6 March 2009.  See you then!

Mara: Sorry that i haven't been more active lately.  We have lots of broker and portal oriented customer projects that we are heads-down on. Our international brokerage has been surprisingly busy - and we're eating our own dogfood (using our own products) to know what is effective and where we need to make improvements. Our work load got to the point that it made sense to automate a good portion of the custom branding work that we do.

I'm strongly considering RE Tech South.  I was on a panel last year and it is a very worthwhile trip.

Just so you know, we've consolidated all 4 of our real estate blogs at http://blog.vidlisting.com for easy catching up. :)

Warmest regards

Tony

You have given me a lot to think about.  I may have to do some research on this.

I think that's awesome, and finally a video company that is honest.  My husband explained this whole thing to me with some of the other companies and YouTube.  We are seeing a bunch of companies uploading these "videos" under their name on YouTube.  How does that benefit the Realtor (who is the customer)?  It seems to me that it's a method to build "video stock" on YouTube and then pick up ad dollars when they become a partner.

Tony, I'm going to check your site out!

p.s. will you be able to view where and how much traffic comes from different sources?

Thanks all.  Your branding *is* important.  Allof us have somehow gotten locked into the youtube model of players where branding isnt yours and all of the SEO benefit of uploading a video goes to your provider rather than to your website.

You've made the investments in your branding and website, you should get the benefits.  We'll be releasing the functionality on http://vidlisting.com within hours now.

Do you have a suggestion on how to integrate with a free 360 viewer?

Tony, how did your launch go?

I am interested in seeing your product in action!
I think most real estate agents don't realize the potential power of this product, and the HUGE SEO Google juice they could get out of it.

Eating our own dog food is a colorful way to get the point across. Pass the Alpo..no, on second thought, dish me up some of the Gravy Train. Woof!
