When we are young we all think our parents are so smart...

When we are in out teen years we think our parents are dumb...

When we get older we again realize the wisdom of their words...

Below is a little quote that my mother emailed to me:

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled,
public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered
and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed, lest
Rome  become bankrupt.  People must again learn to work, instead of living on
public assistance."

Makes you think....

Charles: that is awesome.  History is "doomed" to repeat itself".  We all know what happend to the Roman Empire.  Great Quote - I will share this today!

If we ignore our history we are certainly destined to repeat it.  Looks like we are on track for a huge falling.  Hopefully some of the powers that be will sit up and take notice.

Hi, Charles!

History does repeat itself.  It has been proven.

I totally agree with the quote.  My parents came over as immigrants during WWII with barely anything.  They worked and over the years were able to buy a new car every few years, a home, pay for my brother's and my education, etc.  The only debt they had was the mortgage and maybe the car payment.  If they can do it, so can we.

And in the spirit of an old gospel song .... 'will the circle be unbroken'?

Your mother is a wise woman to have latched onto that quote.
