Taste of Abilene 2009 Things are really beginning to sizzle for the Taste of Abilene 2009, an event that will showcase more than 25 Big Country restaurants and Caterers. The event was revived in 2005 and has raised more than $70,000 collectively, to benefit community Organizations and culinary scholarships. This year’s event is presented by The Abilene Rotary Club and the Abilene Restaurant Association. The Abilene Rotary Club awarded grants to Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, The Historic Paramount, Abilene Weatherization Project, and Junior Achievement among many others with the proceeds. Perini Ranch, Spano’s Italian Restaurant, Sharon’s Lytle Land and Cattle, and Famous Dave’s are just a few of the restaurants to be showcased for 2009. Mark Powell and LARIAT will provide live music throughout the evening. Join us on Tuesday, April 7th from 6-8 pm at the Taylor County Round Building and taste to your hearts content!!
