Ladies and Gentlemen! Let me present the Lake Worth Street Paining Festival!
This annual event took place the weekend of 2/21 and 2/22. It has been estimated that more than 100,000 people attended the two day event that literally puts art on the streets. Hundreds of artists including local students and children particpated and their work was wonderful.
The crowds were huge and it was a lot of fun! As you can see from the pictures below, it was busy!
The artists all work with pastels and only have the two days of the festival to complete their painting. It is very interactive as the attendees may walk all around every piece and can observe the creative process in action. Most of the images are reproductions of classic paintings but many are original for the event.
First
This is one of the best times to come to beautiful Downtown Lake Worth. All of our many bars and restaurants were open with dining on the sidewalks. A large food court was in operation at the City Hall Annex and there was continuous entertainment on the Stage in the Cultural Plaza as well. Everyone was happy and the weather was outstanding.
