Showing Service Stress
I encountered a problem today in the sell of my personal home that I cannot resist in speaking up about tonight. In most cases, I have never had issues with the showing service we use, but this is now the second time the showing service gives me or my client incorrect times. It happened again today. The showing service agent called me and told me a time for a showing. I planned out my morning to make sure and swing by my home in order to spruce it up before the time. The Buyer's Agent and her client showed-up two hours earlier than I was expecting, and more importantly was TOLD they would arrive.
I often lecture my Sellers that you do not LIVE in a home when it is up for Sale the way you live in the home when it's not on the market. I still believe that, but this is often harder in practice. I hear my former clients yelling, "Practice what YOU preach...". All joking aside, this challenge of have a home in "show-able condition" at all times is sometime heightened with kids, pets, and schedules. The lesson of the day, when selling your home (even with Required Appointments) BE PREPARED as best you can at ALL TIMES!
