Well at least I don't work at CNBC......

With all of the turmoil in the housing and mortgage industry, it could get pretty easy to feel a bit down.  But then, I realize I don't work for CNBC and suddenly things don't look so bad.

Caution: some language is used (although bleeped out) which may upset some people.....

There are three things I learned from this:

1) if I ever reach the point where I am actually invited on to the The Daily Show, I will have to be on my deathbed before I would cancel (even then, I would consider a teleconference interview),

2) it simply demonstrates the damage the 24-hour news cycle has on the quality of information available.

3) Industry expert "talking heads" are just that (referring to "heads" not "expert")

In this day and age of "instant breaking news" which isn't, of "crises" which aren't, of "experts" in self-proclaimed name only, and information coming at us from every angle, it is critical we filter all this information with a critical eye.  Try to avoid getting caught on the bandwagon of "conventional thought."

I guess there is a fourth thing I learned; even as our economy sputters through this recession, humor still has a place to ease some of the pain.
