The Essence Of Paying It Forward

I got to thinking the other day about that old paying it forward thing. You know, random acts of kindness, doing things for people just out of the goodness of the heart.

What made me get to thinking about this whole pay it forward topic was I really think this "Karma" thing has something to it. What goes around comes around. You being nice, you planting those seeds of kindness, will somehow in the universe come back to you.

But a thought or quote that stuck in my mind about the character of a person really to me was

The Essence Of Paying It Forward.

And paraphrasing someone's probably famous quote, "When someone gives to you without even any possibility of it doing ANYTHING for them in their life" that is the best level of character to have. It is the essence of paying it forward. Giving, being good, loving without thinking of oneself.

May you be the recipient of those that give to you in this manner and may you practice that level of unconditional love yourself. Afterall you are sending out ripples of kindness from your heart into the big pond of life. You just never know whom you will touch or what wave hitting the shore or the edge of a pool will come back your way and touch you likewise.

Walk down the street with your head up and look everyone in the eye, say HI, nice morning or whatever it is.. it is an awesome thing to do and makes you feel good inside too. Gary ~ Funny that you posted this today; I was able to perform a random act of kindness yesterday. I always try to do this when I can, but always keep it to myself. Gary...my mom and dad drilled this philosophy into me growing up. They were, and still are, constantly "paying it forward." I never understood this way of thinking until the past few years but am trying to make sure MY kids are drilled the same way. I try to "pay it forward" all the time! Thanks for the post!
