I just completed about a 50-mile round-trip on the expressway, and I couldn't believe the number of accidents and incidents. OK, so it's Friday afternoon and everyone wants to get home. However, there are more important things than making it home in a hurry - like making it home in one piece along with your vehicle in that same condition.

I witnessed the aftermath of 3 accidents - including a 4 car smashup that we had to drive onto the shoulder to pass and crunch over all the debris. I heard on the radio of 4 others that occurred along the same stretch of road after I had already passed that area.

Then there was a pickup truck fire that totally destroyed the truck and sent thick black smoke into the air. Don't know the details.

We definitely need to be careful, and make sure that we can return home safely tonight and to the work that we love tomorrow.
