Reportedly one of the oldest homes in the city of Milwaukee.
Built in the early 1800's on Cedarburg Road (now known as Teutonia Ave)
Located at 3402 W Thurston Avenue, this home was moved to it's current sight in 1930's.

Most likely the home started as a one room log cabin. That is the center of the home today. A soaring ceiling with a 2 story window, the gigantic fireplace is a focal point. The iron hooks are still in place to hold the kettles over the fire. The opening to the firebox is about 4 feet tall and 6 feet wide....NOW THIS IS A FIREPLACE! Another focal point in the living room is the staircase. Balusters handhewn more than a century ago hold the railing in place.
The home over the years was added on to, in what looks like 2 or 3 additions. It has grown to a huge home with over2,800 square feet.
The outside has some interesting characteristics also. The huge timber beams cover the exterior of the original part of the home. These are not your typical logs you would see in a log cabin, these are timbers!

Several pieces of wrought iron can be found on doors and windows in the home, and on gates and railings on the outside of the home.
While this home has tremendous historic value, it is not listed on the register. That fact makes remodeling and updating easier, as no special permits are required.
Over the years this home has been featured in Neighborhood News in local papers. Here is your chance to own a piece of history!
