Trash to treasure projects are always a bit of extra work, but so rewarding in the end!

I found that the size and shape of this table set was perfect for staging.  However, the light pine wood was just not working for many of the homes I'd like to put it in.  It was time for a "redesign" and I decided to go with a very dark neutral... one can almost never go wrong with black, right?!

Here are a few "before" photos...

   

Here are the "after" photos of the table set used on a current staging project.  As you can see by the wall under the desk and the dusty floors - the contractor returned for a few repairs, requiring a second cleaning.

Virginia - Thanks.  I decided to put the finishing coat on since the black paint was a bit dull... and the bonus is that it will make it easier for cleaning and maintenance.

Wow Lisa!  Really nice job.  Thanks for sharing how you did this.  I didn't realize that there was such a thing as a spray handle.  I just spray painted a really ugly wicker framed mirror white and my fingers are still recovering from that job.  But the mirror came out so nice.  You are so right, it is very rewarding to turn trash into treasure.

Emma - Oh, yes... it you do a lot of painting, you must go get the spray handle.  It is so slick and really saves your fingers from cramping.  I bet the wicker frame looks great... you should share your photos.  Sometimes the treasures don't even start out as trash, but rather something that needs a facelift.  Either way, its very rewarding! Thanks!

Awesome transformation Lisa -- you are so creative!  Another good reason to do a top coat is it does add durability with all the moving around of furniture you do!

Lori - I love the "little black dress" description!  That is exactly how I feel about it now - it is a 3' x 5' with four chairs and now that its black, it can go in so many places.  Thanks so much!
