I need a vacation from my vacation!!!!

I am sitting here in the Portland Airport waiting for the last leg of my trip home and realize just how nice it is to be back in my beautiful home state of Oregon.

A recap of my last 9 days makes my head spin.

My niece placed first in her region for tumbling - whoo hoo

My niece placed second on Double Mini for her region - whoo hoo

My sister and I had 4 nights together - without husbands - our bar bill averaged $125 a night - ouch

I met a cousin I had never met

I found out that my grandmother should have been a very wealthy woman and that now my sisters and maybe heirs to one of the big household names - wow that blows my mind

I found out that my father never pursued his Indian rights or the family "business" and we can still do so.

I watched a thunderstorm or two in Texas - Wow

I organized another sister's kitchen

I cooked Lasagna, coconut cream pie, parmesan chicken on different nights

I learned a new dish called chicken spaghetti that is to die for

I caught a few croppy and had a fish fry - we had real hushpuppies, cat fish and croppy - that was pretty darn good.

Took my sisters puppy fishing for her first time.

I know I am missing a few things - but I am sure you can see why I need a vacation from my vacation

Sounds like the vacation I usually take ...we will be taking our first to AZ for 8 days the first week in June..but I will be served everything on a silver platter...I'm not serving nobody!

Aren't vacations a bunch of work? My husband and i take vacations (spurts of two to four days) and just hibernate in the house watching movies....hahaha. Cutie pup!

Thesa, Sounds like you have been having a great time. I haven't had a vacation in 7 years. It's by choice though. I guess I just had too much fun when I was young. Now TLW and I would just as soon stay home. When you get home take a few more days off. Want me to write you an excuse?

Welcome Home. You should have called me. I would have come down to the teminal and sat with you while you waited for your connecting flight. Sounds like a wonderful time. Every time I leave Oregon I can't wait to get home.

Herb how sweet - I never thought someone would want to come sit at the airport - company at lunch would have been great.

Teri - I did this was my yearly visit to family I only met 3 years ago

Maggie - I am blessed beyond belief

Bryant - I may need a note if I take off again before labor day - and I may need to come to Florida to look at some listings :o)

Cyndi - that is my sister's mine is black and he stayed home with a baby sitter

Sally - I like to just veg too but my family is spreading which means it is easier for me to travel

Debi - I was pretty relaxed - I love to have no time tables and just be able to be with family

Larry - it is the truth - vacations usually take more out of me than everyday life - I drink on vacation, I stay up all night sometimes and I talk a lot - there is so much catching up to do.

Neal that photo is taken at 1 a.m. after several beers and several hours of fishing - no make up - that is the me that my family generally sees - I do not share it with the public often -

Welcome back. I agree, a vacation from a vacation is all to common. I usually try to give myself a day or two to decompress. Luckily we can sort of do that in our field.
