For anyone who reads my blog at all pretty much has a handle on who I am. I think I write from my heart, or at least I've been accused of writing from my heart.

Today I attended my first unofficial meeting for The Habitat for Humanity in Fremont County Colorado. Somebody donated a house that will be rehabilitated, brought up to county codes and sold to a family at no interest. The house itself is in pretty good condition. All the windows and carpet will be replaced, the walls painted, the front walk and a few steps redone, all in all a great opportunity for a family to own their own house.

With my new responsibilities in mind I thought I'd repost this: If it touches you in anyway please donate. Most everyone reading my words has a roof over their heads, can we remember those who don't...

Dena, Thanks for doing this again. I am writing a blog about it every time I make a donation which will be at least every time I have a closing since I donate 1% from each commission to The house that Active Rain Built"  It is never a lot since I don't sell luxury properties but a little bit at a time adds up too. All my donations so far have been less than fifty dollars but added together they amount to much more than I could ever think about giving in a single donation during the year. I do hope others will join us in this. Our lives may have become more difficult and our incomes smaller but few of us have been devasted in the way that the residents of the Gulf Coast were nor had as little access to assistance as this particular residential area.

Part of the point of this effort is to make it clear that WE CARE; that we are willing to walk our talk.
