Why Can't They Leave Things Alone?

By
Real Estate Agent with Aspen Properties, Inc. BR511793000

I have been getting messages on my Google Webmaster page for weeks now about my website.  Apparently Google made changes and now my website doesn't have the appropriate priority codes in the URL.  I called my provider and they said they were working on it in their system but for now there isn't anything they can do.  As a result, my traffic on the site is way way down.  I am about ready to look around for another web provider but I hate to start all over again and I can't afford to pay someone a fortune to do a new site for me. Anyone got any ideas?

Sandra not sure I do know that this will be a reoccuring problem since Google is constantly updating and changing.  It they did not sooner or later some providers would be able to dial in and only their people would rank in the top %'s.

It can be frusterating.  But like Larry said, it's happening all the time and affecting everyone.  I'm sure your blogging probably helps.  Is your blog linked to your website?

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Larry and Lola.  Social networking (blogging) gets to the top of the searches before websites at the moment for some reason.  Keep blogging and keep updating your website with new information as it is available.  That's really all you can do.

Sandra, you own the content of your website so you should simply be able to have someone FTP the site to another host.  Call some other providers and tell them your situation.

Sandra,

I have the same problm with my site. I did a semi custom site with a developer and they say they own all the info. I own only the front page. It's rather annoying I spent so much money on my site and I cant even control it! >.< Oh well what can you do? Fork over the money for a new one or deal with what you have it seems.

Thanks for all your input guys.  I know they have to keep changing things but I am such a technoidiot that it was all I could do to get a site up and running in the first place.  I have a blog on my site but it isn't linked to AR.  I'm not sure I know how to do that.  I told you, I am a technoidiot.

I do have an AR link in the footer of my site.  I tried a direct link but it kicked me off and went to AR directly.  So that didn't work.  I wish I was more knowledgable about these things.  But I read and read and since I don't understand the language to begin with, it doesn't help.  I'm an old dog and I didn't even have a computer until quite late in my life.  It has taken a long time to gain what knowledge I do have.
