Snow Ghost

A quick explanation for these wonderfully unique anomalies...they tend to appear in the higher altitudes of some of our local ski resorts namely Big White Ski Resort and Silver Star.  Their name sake is for the eeiry and often beautiful shapes that they take over the course of a winter season.  The cool thing about them is no two ever look the same!

Very beautiful!  The snow looks so clean and fresh against the vivid blue sky.  This doesn't look anything like our big Alabama snow last week. :)

Now that is an awesone picture.  My sisters and I use to make snow caves, and pretend we were Eskimos. It use to snow really hard here in WV, we would go out around 11am and stay out most of the day.

Hi Jason!  Now THAT is one cool picture!  You see those cloud figures when you're flying but, just can't capture the photo from the plane.

Jason - Are there trees under that snow? Or is it just some freaky snow art thing?

Todd - Those are actually trees buried under several feet of snow near the summit regions.  Pretty neat looking don't you think?  Take care and thanks for stopping by!
