Hi Marian.....the island of St. Croix, USVI, is filled with these gorgeous ruins of old sugarmills. The island was divided into estates (plantations) and you will find these old sugarmills as you travel around this little bit of paradise. My goal is to eventually photograph them all.

Great shot! Round off the top a bit and it looks like a CO coke oven! =o) These structures always make me wonder about the people connected with them who built them and used them.
