The Carolina Cup race is upon us already.  This time honored South Carolina tradition has become of the

the social events of the south, drawing crowds from around the world.  This annual spring event draws crowds over 65,000 strong.  Fans are drawn to the event to enjoy the sport of steeplechase horse racing amongst a rainbow of spring fashions, elaborate tailgate parties, and plenty of mint juleps for all!  From the Corporate Terrace to College Park, old friends meet and new friends are made during the afternoon of seven races.

This year's Carolina First Carolina Cup will take place on Saturday, March 28th.

A local television station has even announed a contest to determine the best Carolina Cup hat!  This is a big deal folks!  WIS News 10 and wistv.com's Send it to10 are giving away free tickets to the afternoon of seven races.  The prizes include General Admission tickets for some, and a Grand Prize including a Grandstand Box for six, hospitality wristbands for six, and two parking passes.

To enter, submit either a photo or video of yourself or a friend wearing your best Carolina Cup hat!  The judges will pick the winners from among all those submitted before noon on Thursday, March 19.  Winners will be announced on the WIS News 10 7:00 Report during the week of March 16th, with the Grand Prize winner announced at 7pm on Friday, March 20.  No purchase necessary, and you do not need to watch the newscast to win.  See attached rules for full details.
