By
Real Estate Agent with Century-21 Homestar

Looking for some help here... Most of you know I'm not very smart when it comes to the computer...I'm just learning how to do things on here and you all have helped me with giving me great info in the past..

I maybe able to take your old car apart and put it back together and run and look better then new ...but here's where you guys come in...

I want to put my photos on http://www.flickr.com/ or http://photobucket.com/  but I need one that is easy to use.....

I'm looking for suggestions on them and the one that you guys use the most....Remember I'm not real good with this kind of stuff so any help here would be very appreciated...

Or if there is another site like this. Just looking for some help ...peace zane

I must admit that I don't really use either one of them very much, but I have used both before. My wife and many of the people here are big fans of Flickr, and it seems to be pretty user friendly.

I don't know anything about photobucket, but I use Flickr and really like it.  They have uploader software on their website for free here:  http://www.flickr.com/tools/

If you'd like to check my Flickr, it is at:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/sensorphoto/sets/

If you have more questions, feel free to send me an email.

Another website (not free) that I really like is SmugMug - take a look at mine at:  http://sensorphoto.smugmug.com/

Flickr is really neat because it gives you groups that you can learn things about the camera you use and what type of lenses do what.  I find it really informative and fun!

Home is where the hearth is.

I don't really use either... but recently we received a group of photos from a wedding, via flickr... I found the site difficult to navigate, and not particularly friendly... (and my twenty-something children said the same)...

Don't know photo bucket... but I'd try that out first... I know many of them offer free trial periods.

I have used photo bucket for over 2 years now and I think it is so easy to use and now they have an editing feature also.

I became a Photobucket user just recently since I became an Active member (yes Newbie).  I needed a place to download pictures for web hosting (didn't even know I needed that until recently either).

It is very easy to use---and Free!  I downoad pictures right from my computer (My Pictures)-  everything's OK so far!

Hello Zane, Good Question. I am in the same camp as you are when it comes to the "how does thing work" . To answer your question, I have used Flickr and it seems pretty easy to use. I have have heard of the other, but I am going to check it out.

Zane you just reminded me that I have to sign up for a profile on Flickr. I am going to have to check out www.photobucket.com. And do you know about Retaggr.com. I just wrote a blog about it. It is a business card 2.0 where you can put all of your online profiles and contacts. Thanks for making a comment on my blog. Great post.

I need to spend some time on Flickr...I have used Photobucket a few times, but don't like that some places I try to use the picture...it links straight to my photobucket account so whoever clicks on the photo sees all of my stuff.  I am sure I am not doing something right..maybe I will post the question and just straigten it out.  There seems to be so many places to do so many different things....hard to keep up.

Hi Zane, I'm a Flickr person, too. I love it. The learning curve is not a big issue - I didn't find it hard to use. This is my Flickr site, and this is Flickriver, an easy to use viewing tool. You can join a variety of Groups that might interest you, and there is so much you can learn from them.

Zane:

I want a place to drop all my photos, so I don't have them on my computer.  Can you do that with flickr and photobucket.
