Olive oil as a sunscreen at the East Coast surfing capital

By

As many people know, Wrightsville Beach in the Wilmington, North Carolina area has the best ocean surfing on the east coast of the U.S. If you don't know that, it might interest you to know that we have lots of surfing tournaments here, that during the summer surf camps and school are a minor but very busy industry, and that surfers can be seen in the water pretty much year round. In this short video, which is admittedly a little silly (!), I demonstrate that just because I share the same name (Bruce Brown) of the guy who made the original surfing move "The Endless Summer" in 1966, that doesn't mean I have a lot of sense when it comes to going to the beach. Bottom line: Olive oil is a great moisturizer, but not good at all as a sunscreen!

I love the fact that you do a video blog... It has something I have wanted to try... just a bit camera shy and tech challenged.  Enjoyed the lighthearted post...
