hello fellow RE professionals...

now thats its offcially golf season again, i just wanted to share some helpful tips.....

background info: ive been playing for about 5 yrs now... before i got into RE i used to range 2x/wk, go out to the course 2x/wk, but that all changed 3 yrs ago when i started to get into RE (2x/month range, 3x/month golf course)...   As a result my handicap went from a 12 to an 18 currently hahahahha   i think the main difference is my short game, i lost the feel of chips and putting is killing me these days...

the best tip i can give is what i did last week... for the first time since i started playing i went to the local PGA professional to get a VIDEO ANALYSIS of my swing and work from there... the KEY is definitely VIDEO analysis cuz until u see what youre doing wrong, you will be hesitant to fix anything...

we all know the game is 90% mental... BUT if you are a beginner and fighting the ugly slices that lose 50-100 yrds of distance, THINK about making your grip stronger (that doesnt mean gripping the club tight,  it just means turning ur left hand (if ur a righty, if ur a lefty its ur right hand) clockwise a bit...  when i first starting playing i had that slice tooo... i NEVER wanted to see that again and since the draw goes farther its always better to draw then fade/slice...

best of luck this golf season

I just started in RE in the fall and last week was my first round of golf for the season, I had not hit the range before (too busy) but luckily it was a charity event and best ball scramble.  I was playing with some "new" friends and after getting the rust off I started cranking the drives and got some great comments about distance and fairway position.  Puffed up, I was out with some "old" friends and related the first match of the year and was quickly put in my place, "three years ago you straighted your drives, you always had the distance, but you always fall apart on the second shot."  Somethings never change, since I get up at  5 am maybe I can find a local driving range that opens early.  Strong grip is a good tip.

Edward,  Good post!.  I live in South Florida where we are lucky you can play golf year round.  Of course during Nov-April you have make a mortgage payment to play.
