The City of South Gate Azalea Festival celebrates community service, the joys of family, friendship and neighborhood unity and recognizes the City's official flower, the Azalea. South Gate Park is located at 4900 Southern Avenue. For more information, please call the park offices at (323) 563-5479 or visit the City of South Gate Web site at www.sogate.org. The Azalea Festival is from March 13 to 22. The schedule is as follows:

Friday, 3/13 - 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Celebration of Youth Dinner & Performance
National Championship Performances
By: South Gate Youth Football Cheer Teams
At: South Gate Park Auditorium
Fee: $6.00

Saturday, 3/14 - 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Ms. Azaleita Contest & Talent Competition for Girls 4 to 6 years old
By: South Gate Multi Cultural Women's Club
At: South Gate Park, Girl's Club House
Fee: $3.00 (Includes Lunch)

Saturday, 3/14 - 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Azalea Golf Tournament
Registration Fee $10.00 Jr. & $15.00 Adults
At: South Gate Park, Par 3 Golf Course
Sunday, 3/15 - 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Azalea Car Show
Over a 100 Cars, Music, Food & Awards

I am jealous!  I have to wait another month for spring here.  If I recall correctly, our azalea's bloom sometime around the middle to end of April.

We too have an azalea festival Kim but ours in the 1st week of April. It is huge here and is our biggest festival of all... Festivals are big in this town.. We love 'em.. Have fun at yours...

Kim, thanks for the announcement on this show. I had seen a few posts from some on the East Coast that were having Azaela shows as well. Must mean the weather is warming up.
