Not enough discription on MLS

OK, I am trying to figure out why sometimes agents deliberately or not puting really minimal description in their MLS listings. Is it because they don't know or don't want to know anything about the property they are listing, or they deliberately not putting information in, so they get more phone calls.....or do they??? Probably not. I was searching today for single family homes and one of the listings that fell under the search criteria had 6 pictures...but they were ALL THE SAME, all of the front of the house. Wasn't there anything remarkable inside? Guess what, choosing out of 50+ properties I couldn't see the reason to send this one to my client. Sending 20, with all the detailed inside views,  was overwelming already  as it is. I wouldn't even call to that agent to find out any details if I have another 30 homes to choose from. Why do agents jeopardise their work and reputation. if you went there to take pictures in the first place, then is it so difficult to take a few different ones?

How about those descriptions that are just not true, the ones that paint the picture of a palace and when you show up it is a little run down shack.  It helps to know the agents in your farm area and know their writing styles - I can tell immediately who exaggerates and who doesn't.

That's definitely true, but isn't misrepresentation is against the law?

It's very difficult to to prove "misrepresentation" because descriptions are so subjective.  I may think a place is in move-in condition and you may walk in and think it's a dump.  I walked into a listing a couple of weeks ago that read "significantly updated" and the house was missing an A/C compressor, needed new bathrooms, and paint was peeling off the walls.  The owner was showing it (used a discount broker) and when I asked where were the significant updates he stuttered.  The next day he called his discount broker to change the description because it was misleading and turning people off.
