really like twitter & linked in, not so much facebook

So it turns out that twitter is really fun - quick, easy and to the point.  Love it.

Linked In - nice way to keep a business face out there and requires minimal maintenance.

Facebook - too chaotic and no way to really separate business and personal.  Think I'm going to pull it.

Blogger - working well right now but having some trouble with my rss feeds.

AR - great info - easy to maintain and love to read what's going on out there.

Looking at a new website for Professional Organizers - posted a few articles - will start some blogs - see how it goes.

Amazing stuff out there - loving TinyURL and twitpic - about ready to try issuu  - now if these darn clients would stop wanting me to actually work for them, maybe I could do it all . . . .

I ignore most of the request I get on facebook, but love how easy it is to post links, videos and blogs to it -- it's given me some new clients!

I use LinkedIn for business and Facebook for social - but Facebook is doing a major redesign that might be easy to allow you to filter business and personal.  We'll see how it turns out.

I'm just now getting into LinkedIn with some of my local Realtors. I love Activerain, and really don't have much time for other sites.

Very cute Liz!  The computer time can sure eat away at your day if you let it.  I also agree with you.  I am partial to the programs you noted, but am not a huge fan of facebook.  I figure I can't do it all so I focus on others.  I am sure part of it is because I don't know it well enough.  We will see what the facebook changes bring.

I wouldn't give up Facebook.:)  My own FB is becoming too much of a mix of personal too.  I read that when using FB for business, it is better to create a business FB where that link can go on your website and blogs to invite "friends" that are interested in staging and potential clients.  Then you can market to them thru posting staging info, pics, newest blogs, etc...and keeping to the subject of staging.   FB is mighty powerful....There is tons of marketing info about using FB in your business.  Do a search and you'll be amazed at all the great info out there on the subject. :)

I think the trick to all of these is to learn what feeds into what.  Not 20 minutes after I post on AR it whowed up on facebook.  twitter feeds into facebook too.

Once I figure out all these feeds my life will be easier.

I look forward to facebooks updates becasue I relly do want to separate my friends from my bueuiness

I concentrate on AR (my favorite stop on the web!) and LinkedIn, and my partner has gotten into Facebook. I spend enough time on the ones I have now without getting into more. And Facebook seems quited demanding to me, so I'm steering clear for the time being. As for Twitter - yikes! There's something about it that intimidates me. (But then, lots of technology intimidates me...)

FB is somewhat addicting and for me hard to separate personal and business.

So interesting to hear all of the comments - thanks for reading the post - Facebook seems to be the most controversial - love it, hate it, love it, hate it, not sure about it . . .

I do like twitter and from what I understand - each time you post on twitter it creates a new web page that bumps your own website rankings.  Not sure if I have this right but it's something that is quick and easy to do - and any more web presence for business can only be a good thing!  For those not sure about twitter - it's super easy to set up - just find a name that people can associate with you (I use afreshspace so on twitter I'm @afreshspace).  Then you can follow other people's comments.  I've found some really cool people on there - and I'm using it to find other blogs I can post comments on and am being followed by quite a few people - from all over the world which is bizarre but cool.

I just don't think I have enough time, nor the inclination to follow through with facebook but I'm being very indecisive about it - very wishy washy which is very unlike me.  I'm just going to let it sit I think.

I agree with Virginia that figuring what feeds to what is the hard part and making sure that they are actually benefitting you and your web presence.  It's very confusing sometimes!

Jason - yes those people who actually want me to work of all things - a joke of course - I'm off to make a house pretty - meeting the plumber, floor guy and handyman - and have already done the mold removal and grading work, plus received the electrical quote.  So much goes into getting a house ready for sale that no one even sees (but is super happy with when the house is sold and inspected!).

Teresa - I tried to set up a separate business profile and it wouldn't let me - perhaps I didn't do it correctly but I've heard from others that this is a problem.  I have heard that there are some changes going on at Facebook so we'll see.

Thanks everyone for the comments!

I would not quit Facebook its more popular than any of those. Make 2 accounts one professional and one for friends if you cant separate it.

I would definitely NOT get rid of Facebook....if your referral come from your warm market, then why would you consider getting rid of it?

I actually get more contacts from twitter than facebook but I think my reluctance to pursue facebook comes from the feeling that I was forced into it instead of finding my own way there.  Hmmm . . . some self analysis there.  Well, we'll see - it definitely has it's supporters.

Haven't bothered to even look at Twitter (I really don't need another place to hang out).  LinkedIN was a place to post a business profile and agreed, doesn't need much maintenance - very professional.  I reserve my FaceBook account strictly for family and friends.  I don't think it has the makings of a good business network.

I did end up closing down my facebook - just didn't like it and it was too much work to keep it going.  I keep in touch with all my friends in other ways and it wasn't what I wanted for business.  So there you go.  I do love twitter, though.  I've met more professionals in my field through twitter than any other resource - plus the articles and blog posts people put on there have been fabulous - I've learned so much by following those.  The best part is that I can make interesting connections throughout the world and it's easy and fun.  So thumbs up on twitter.

Also, on Linked In, you can feed your personal blog and twitter into it using Blog Link.  AR also has a feature that when you post on AR, it does a twitter post with a link to your AR post.  Very nice!  Just go to your profile/settings section and add your twitter account.
