Are you aware of the Active Rain "Referral Exchange"?

This is a great resource for Active Rainers. I've only used it once, with an outbound referral, but I was very impressed. Within a couple of days, I had 5 responses when my daughter and son-in-law were seeking a home in Pittsburgh.

I'm currently trying to review an agents qualifications in Albany, NY, and it occurs to me that I could probably find an excellent agent through Active Rain. What an excellent resource this community has become over the past few years.

Guess what web site I'll be siting in my write-up to my friend, who is seeking an opinion about her property in Albany? My hat is off, to the good folks who put this together originally, and to the community that has subsequently evolved.

You're right, I need to check the referrals more often. Got out of the habit. Thanks for the reminder.

I used it recently with a $0 referral to anyone who was working in a part of town for the buyer who wanted me to show them a house. I think I got 7 or 8 responses in an hour.

Much faster than trying to find someone in that part of Columbus any other way.

AR is a good channel for networking and referral. I also go to other sources to check out people I'm considering (CRS Directory, website of the agency and web page of the one(s) I want to interview. Maybe reading a few posts from the AR member would be a great insight of their professionalism, personality, etc. Good luck on those AR referrals and hope you receive some back as well!
