Photoshop PDF Presentations - Quick and Easy Way to Share Photos!

A Basic, Simple Photo Slideshow to Attach to Emails

So you have a selection of photographs, and you want to share them with family, friends, or clients. Maybe an out of town client wants to see the photos you took of their property? Or you want to send the in-laws photos of their grandchild's birthday? The problem is, emailing them all will make your recipients groan under the laborious process of downloading them all...

There is a quick and easy way to remedy this problem. It's called "PDF Presentation" in Photoshop. (I use Photoshop CS, and don't know if this option is in Elements or not, check it out and see).

Here's how to do it:

In Photoshop, click File>Automate>PDF Presentation

Your screen will look like this:

PDF Presentation

Select 'Presentation", and 'View PDF after Saving' if you'd like to see your results immediately.

To choose the files you'd like to include, click 'Browse'.

Here you will also choose the length of time each photo in your presentation will remain on the screen before moving to the next photo. I've chosen 7 seconds.

You can also choose to loop the presentation, and choose a transition between the photos.

Click 'Save'

Title your presentation and choose where to save it.

The next screen will be 'PDF Options':

PDF Options

Here, you can choose JPEG, and the quality of the file. (The higher the quality, the larger the PDF file size).

Click OK.

Your presentation will quickly be created, saved as a PDF, and ready to view and share as an attachment in an email to family, friends, or clients.

To exit the presentation, press the 'Esc' button at top left of your keyboard.

That's It!

You now have a professional looking presentation that took about 5 minutes to create, and won't take 3 days to download!

Position yourself above your competition - Utilize a "Real Estate Showcase" Slideshow DVD as a listing tool. Gift a DVD copy to the buyer at closing to share with out of town friends and family. Post it on your own website. Post it on your blog to advertise your listings.

Memories DVDs Photo Slideshow DVD and Web Presentations, "Real Estate Showcase", to assist with marketing and advertising endeavors. More affordable, more interesting, and more captivating than a virtual tour!

Debi, I use CS too but have never used this feature. Do you know if you can upload the presentation as a slide show on a website? Rich

Hi Rich, It saves it as PDF file.  I don't know how it could be converted to flash for a website. Maybe someone will weigh in here with an idea. ( Of course, you could always have me create a more advanced type of show for your website, LOL ;)

Wow, it must be easy.  I sent your post up stairs to my husband who is at our computer (I'm on my laptop)  and he has already sent me two slideshows.  This is awesome.

Hi Debi:  This is a great tutorial and an excellent idea on "how to" share.  Now I'm going to be pesky ;-)  Would you mind creating a link that we can see the end product of YOUR efforts.  Really, I just want to see some more of your terrific photos :-)

Hi Debi,

Great tip! I forgot all about Photoshop being able to do this. I use CS too, but can people do this in Elements as well?

Hi Zane, You can! Super easy!

Hi Gail, Thanks, glad you enjoyed it - however, it comes as a PDF file that can be attached, not a link (I tried, if there's a way, I don't know how!), So I'll send you the PDF as an email attachment, OK?My test was real basic, I think 8 photos.

Hey there, Michael, I don't know about Elements, have never used it. Maybe someone can check it out, and let us know?

Hi Debi—Great tutorial! I love Photoshop... well the entire Adobe Creative Suite 3 , but PS is my hands-down favorite. It's only limited by one's imagination. CS 4 has been out for awhile now, but I bought CS 3 not knowing CS 4 was coming out... oh well, I'm just happy a tool such as PS exists. I love all of the stuff we can do with photography now. Have a great week!

Hey Linda, Glad you liked it! Happy to share - You're right about PS- as I always say, you could live for 200 years, and still not learn everything you can do with it! ;)
