25 Comments on How Active Rain May Be Turning Me Into An Herbivore
Steve, did you know that can make fake bacon out of tofu? I've never tried it. Sounds gross.
Andrew, but is he cute enough to eat?
Michael, BBQ tempe. Mmmmm. Yum!
Nate, this is a really great take out run by a guy who used to be a Realtor®
It taste too good not to eat. Close your eyes and tell yourself its chicken!
Having a daughter who was a vegan for many years made me appreciate the power of Tofu. Okay that is a stretch but if you hit the Sunflower Cafe in Vienna you won't even know that you missed the beef or the chicken. I was glad when she went back to just plan old vegetarian!
Hi Pat!
any again....yea...I will, but maybe I won't enjoy it so much...yea I will...nothing is better than a great cheeseburger! Sorry! ;o)

Thanks so much...I wasn't much of a red meat eater before...but darn you! I may not be able to eat
I had to look up herbivore...so sad.
I am a partial vegan. I love beef - but limited amounts. I don't eat seafood or pork. I much prefer a yummy salad lately.
Pat, And this is a post from the same person who had lunch with us at "Adams Ribs." Where are we going next time, "Brocholli Wockly?" Rich
Hi Pat,
I love a great steak! Steve is right eat some bacon. Everything tastes better with bacon :)

Pat, while I doubt I'll ever become a vegan, let alone a vegetarian, I'd be happy to treat you to lunch at my favorite vegetarian restaurant in Falls Church -- their food is delicious and filling.
Pat, I am so sorry, really, LOL. I would not want to be the one to put you on that slippery slope to veganism. I don't know how to make you feel better. I am sure, in time, you will have to have some beef.
Our animals on the farm are in a cycle of life. They serve us well in many stages of their life, then we make sure the end is quick, respectful and humane and useful. And most important, thru all their stages of life they are well taken care of, happy and healthy.
And, I try like hell to get those little bullies sent to people who raise oxen. Then they have a real cushy life.
Our little Mr. Ook may indeed grow up to make us proud in a oxen pull!
And Pat, go look at my other babys pictures!!! (grandson) He will make you feel better.
Patricia - I am a proud meatatarian, in dinosaur times I would have been a meatosaurus. Remember, veggies cause gas. And tofu never really tastes like bacon, it really doesn't taste like much of anything. But, one of my favorite dishes is Ma Po Tofu.
LOL, I love the advice to eat bacon!
Lately I've been driving around farm country and I've been seeing these little white huts near where they keep the cows and I've been wondering if that's where they keep the calves for veal. I almost get sick at the thought of it. I don't regularly eat veal and if I find out that's the truth I probably never will again and then, like you said it's a slippery slope! And I love me some steak!
I am going to avoid reading the blog so I do not feel guilty later on tonight when I enduldge in a nice thick cut of Prime Rib.
Good morning Pat... I am giving a thumbs down on fake bacon made from tofu. Give me some pig! There is also a product called Tofurkey (I suppose for vegetarians who don't want to feel left out at Thanksgiving)... let me just say that I like tofu and I like turkey, but am not a fan of tofu masquerading as turkey, so I doubt it could imitate bacon much better!
Pat --- you make me think of when I was little (eons ago), I lived on a farm and we ate what we grew, except for cows --we never butchered a cow, but pigs and chickens all the time. It is hard to eat chicken after you have witnessed (or even done it yourself) the ringing of the chicken's neck. But, LOL, what would I eat today if I did not eat chicken?
In the words of Homer Simpson, "Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Meeeeeeat!"
I had to come back and see what the consensus is, and I see most of you are meat eaters. I just want to tell Kim that those white thingys are calf hutches, and it very well could be a little heifer in there. The train of thought is that they are healthier if kept separate when they are young. Hence the huts. Also, you can keep a calf outside in the winter in them, supposedly.
OK, WHERE'S THE BEEF?
Pat, you can pick up the little boy when you are up here visiting the family seat!
The bacon bits on the salad dressing section is all fake, so you can eat that and not feel bad.
I could easily cut out beef as I'm a chicken and pasta girl myself.
Alright Pat,
You need to stop all of this whining and head to your local BBQ place and load up. Come on I know you can do it. ;-)
I know it is cruel to eat animal meat but I cannot seem to live without any meat. Chicken or beef, they are all animals, right? :-)
