I work with several asset companies and one of them e-mailed me a new listing yesterday. In the paperwork, I was told that if the previous owner is still there go ahead and offer them CFK(Cash for keys) and also find out if anyone there was in the military and currently serving overseas.

Since this house auctioned on the courthouse steps a few days ago, I figured it was good to be able to offer these people some money(up to $500) in exchange for a sweep out condition house complete with the keys.

They would not come to the door so I left my card in the door. Right after I drove off I got a call and the lady asked me about my card. I told her I was asked by the mortgage company(that now owns that house) to find out if someone there was serving in the military and currrently overseas. I told her if so there might be something we can do to allow them to stay. She said no to that question then I offered her CFK. She said no way since her lawyer is going to save "their" house. I wished her good luck and then said good-bye.

Well 5 minutes later her husband calls and said not to be on his property anymore. He was rude and very threatening. I was polite and eased out of the terrible talk going on and hung up.

I hate to see anyone lose their house and still do not want these people to lose their house!

My good friend lives across the street from this house and he was home so I stopped in there and asked him about these people. He told me they haven't worked for over a year and do not want to work.

This is my least favorite part of being a Realtor!

That is how my Friday the 13th started out this morning and I hope your's is going much better!
