Vote for the best music video - YouTube Vote for your favorite Ohio music video by March 18, 2009.
The 23 videos that were submitted are displayed on YouTube. The rules for the challenge for the Ohio film makers included.
"Each video must include one of the following criteria:
- A location identified by an Ohio historical marker
- A sign that displays the word Ohio in a positive manner
- Apparel containing team logos that are Ohio based (Cleveland CAVS, Cincinnati Bengals, Columbus Crew, etc.)
- Items featuring college and university logos. (Akron University, Bowling Green State University, Marietta College, Wright State University, Youngstown State University, etc.) "
Although OSU is strangely missing from the list there in the last bullet.. I did see OSU logos in a couple of he videos I've had a chance to watch...
Location, Location, Location
It is neat to see the videos showing locations in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dayton and especially Columbus. I have not watched all of the videos yet. One of my favorites is Route 43 near Kent Ohio, very abstract.
I hated a couple of the films... A Dayton film... an Akron film... (I've lived in both markets.) It will be fun to see how the different films come up in the voting and the judging by an expert panel. The competition made me dig up my YouTube password... I probably have not signed in, in years.
Vote by March 18th... then there is a panel of judges who know about music and video who will weigh in on the videos.
Edit March 20, 2009 - the link at the top of this post now only goes to the 10 videos that made it through the public rating. These 10 videos are now being judged by professioals in the music and film industry.

Maureen-
Thanks so much for this find. What a great idea for celebrating Ohio talent, and Ohio in general. I liked "A Man Needs an Airplane" by Happy Chichester. A Dayton accomplishment- flying- to be used to stalk watch over someone you love... It's so sweet! And filmed in the Schuster Center? Beautiful.
