March 28, 2009 is the date for the Honey Creek Saturday morning walking tour beginning at 9 a.m.  The tour is and interesting and educational outing for the entire family.    Please call 830-438-2658 to confirm the tour. 

The 2293.7 acre Honey Creek State Natural Area is located in Comal County and is only a 30 drive north of San Antonio.

Chipped stone tools remain as evidence of the use of Honey Creek by early hunter-gatherers who roamed throughout the Edwards Plateau region. Later Indian tribes spent time on the land and left artifacts of their time here. 

Suggested Donation: $2 per person for 13 years and older or $5 per family. Admission is free for Friends of Guadalupe River or Honey Creek.

I have never been to the park but love state parks and particularly anything to do with ancient man, fossils etc. We need to get there this year.

Hi Trey,  Honey Creek is a great and economical place to take the grandkids when they are old enough.  Yours are still too little as I recall.  Of course, I love things like this as well.
