The $8000 First Time Home Buyer Credit has the potential to help a lot of people. It can help first time homebuyers get their first home and understand what it means to have pride in ownership. It will also help homeowners that want to buy their next home because now they have a larger pool of people able to buy the home they are trying to sell.
There are a lot of facets to the credit and ultimately you should consult with your accountant to answer your questions. There are rules regarding your salary, marital status, price of the home purchased, and more.
A friend of mine, Jason Crouch who is a Realtor in Austin Texas, found this video that gives a good explanation of the $8000 first time home buyer credit.

If you are a first time home buyer looking in the Philadelphia suburbs you have many options. There are very affordable condos, townhomes and even single family homes in all the counties surrounding Philadelphia. So far, in 2009, I have helped two first time home buyers buy a homes in Chester and Montgomery Counties. Both homes were in good school districts, in excellent condition and were great investments for my clients.
If you think you could benefit from the $8000 Home Buyer Credit I would be happy to help you!
