Hi Gerry—You can practically feel the mist descending upon the range. Naoma is right... this is definitely a Montana moment!

Betty,

You are welcome.   That is the first "Outstanding" I received from all the photos I have so far posted on AR.  Thank you!

A great website to start planning your trip to Montana is www.visitmt.org .  That is Montana's official state travel site.   You should go ahead and check it out!

Dramatic photo...I love the fact the earth seems completely neutral to the show in the sky.   Good thing humans are around, sometimes, to "appreciate".

Gerry, What a great shot!  We don't see many buffalo around here.  When I lived in Colorado I would see lots of them maybe they don't like our humidity and heat.

MMMM, buffalo.  Makes me want to have a steak.  I have been BBQing a couple times a week already but havent had any buffalo yet this year.  We have a great buffalo farm here that sells their meat for a decent price.  It makes an amaziing steak.

Gerry-You somehow seem to capture the wide expanse of Montana within your photos. I like the way the rainbow seems to enclose the brightness within its dome. Thanks for the beautiful scene.

Gerry,

That photo makes me want to visit; your photos all seem to do that.  Of course, Robert May has a good idea there too...

Hi Gerry, I noticed the photo was taken in the Yellowstone - what a fabulous place.  I love the fact that you were there and able to capture that rainbow over the Bison! Just gorgeous.  Is Red Lodge close to Yellowstone?  Where are you Gerry??!!!!

Li,

I enjoyed reading your comment.  I sure appreciated that moment and that day.

Debi,

Thank you.   I am glad you like them.

Hannah,

They were roaming and the rainbow just happen to came along.

Marchel,

It probably has to do with humidity and temperature.   They are well equipped for the winter in this part of the country with their furry coats.

Robert,

They make great steaks and great buffalo burgers.   But, please don't mention this when you are around them.

Lydia,

You are welcome.   I enjoy and do my best to capture and share some of the beauties of Montana and I appreciate your comment.

Mike,

You are very welcome to come visit Big Sky country.   A great website to start planning is www.visitmt.com

Terry,

Thank you.   I hope it brought back some good memories of Alberta (the province and more land for the bisons to roam just North of Montana).

Mary,

Red Lodge is only 69 miles from the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park.   It makes for a great family vacation to plan and visit Red Lodge as well as nearby Yellowstone.
