Business is picking up, here in Connecticut. We are booking more showings, as listing agencies and signing up more buyers as buyer agencies. The momentum of this spring selling season can help us through this economy. You must be ready to serve your clients. Make yourself available to them as much as possible. Make sure that you are in contact with the banker, home inpsector and attorney's office during the term of the transaction. Knowledge is key. Know your product. Keep tabs on the mls and your local market.
While I was out showing properties yesterday, I was aware of my client's concerns with each home that we saw. One was a foreclosure and had been trashed. Unfortunately, there is no way to know how bad they are, until you see them. I am amazed that the banks are not maintaining them better than they have for the prices that they are asking. Out of the five homes that we viewed, only two were close to consideration. One of those two was eliminated because of the proximity to apartment buildings. So, we have one to consider.
Next time we are viewing homes, we will stack up that one, to the next few that will be considered. Yes, there are many houses for sale, however, the houses have not been well maintained over the years. The buyers are looking for mint, move-in condition homes. Very few and far between, all of these others.
Spring flowers were seen popping up in the yards. It certainly does help the process. Warmer weather is on its way here, thank goodness:) All of these emotional feelings that come along with the buying of a home, are helped by the bright, blooming flowers and warm sunshine. Get ready, with the prices falling and the low interest rates, people will be out shopping for a new home this spring season.
Have handouts about the community ready for your new referrals! I post information on brightly colored paper. Spring colors! Have a packet from your local post office for their upcoming change of address.
Get busy like a bee! You'll have lots of honey stored up by winter!
It's a Good Life!
