Now before I start getting HATE POSTS, I know that there are terrible events that occur in people's lives that are not at all affected by this post....but not many more severe than what I am about to share. Moreover, I know that such events CAN....I repeat CAN affect their lives long term. I will come back to this paragraph later......

The purpose of this post is that I have noticed over my life that there are many people that seem to go through life....with everything that seems to go their way....no matter how much risk they take; yet, others, everything seems to go against them....year after year after year. WHY?
This is Dr. Joseph Klatt. It seems that everything seems to go his way. He started in real estate and became one of the most successful agents in San Diego...... He later started a brokerage firm that is still successful even in this down market, www.Klattrealty.com and has also established a successful mediation company, and makes speeches throughout Southern California on the state of the economy and where real estate is going.
It seems that everything he does is a success....one after another after another after another. Is it because of hard work, or a simple mindset. I say it is a combination of both, but mostly the latter.
Dr. Klatt had a car accident in La Jolla California where his car went over a cliff.....yet, he survived, but lost both eyes and had years of reconstructive surgery. He was 19 years old.
So what was his logical next step in life? Well the obvious, of course. He decided that he wanted to become a successful real estate agent. So he spent the next years graduating from college....he got his real estate license....his broker's license....and then his doctorate in real estate. Yes, he is a doctor of real estate. (go to his website for details)
Now back to paragraph one. Here is a guy that has a major life changing experience, and he picks an industry to get into that, well, only he would do. Why? His dad was a builder and he loved real estate and wanted to be a success like his dad. Makes logical sense, right? I would think 100% of us would say no; But, that he did.
So you can either take a MINDSET that life has done you wrong and let life control you, or you can have the MINDSET that this is what life has given me and I will make the best of it.
Joseph Klatt is my daily motivator. Moreover, I have a newspaper ad of his in my wallet that I have kept for the past 8 years.
When ever I start thinking I don't know if I can do this or that, I know that there is a blind man in La Jolla that is kicking my butt, and I am attempting to achieve his greatness. Maybe I wont get there, but I will give it my all.
So what is going through Joseph's mind that has made him an icon in the real estate industry, yet he has never see a home for any of his buyers or his clients. He made a powerful statement to me that I have never forgotten.....and I may never understand. He told me "I truly believe that I have an advantage over sighted people".
He goes to property tours like you or I, but he listens where we see. He takes clients to homes and he listens where we see. He shows clients homes and he listens, where we see. He gets his clients to drive, where we drive our clients. He has an office on La Jolla's most prestigious streets where most of us are trying to survive out our make shift office in our home.
MINDSET: When life throw horrible things at you, take it as an experience to learn from and grow from. Don't let life control you. Take control of life.
Whine about what is going on in our lives right now all we want, but there is a blind guy in La Jolla California that is not only kicking our butts, but thanks God everyday for his life and believe that he has an advantage over you and me.....and perhaps he does.
What is your dis advantage?
Disadvantage's are only what we think they are. We can choose what we want to become. The mind is very powerful. What a great motivational post.
