Hi Melissa!
Interestingly, our own MetroList has worked very hard to eliminate this very thing.  Our houses must be off of the market at least 30 days to get a new number.  After that, we have two fields..one that is "Days on Market" and reflects the number of days it has been on the market since the number was given, and the other "Complete Days on Market", that give total days on market, regardless of the number.  I like it, as it give a true picture of the history of the property.

Melissa...I am also from California and it's against MLS rules...called churning.  I agree there are both pros and cons with it...but rules are rules!  What we can do is go refresh our own personal websites or outside blogs to seek more exposure.  Thanks for posting!
