Salt Lake County Home Owners Insulation Rebates!

Have you heard about the home Weatherization Rebate programs from Questar and Rocky Mountain Power? These are some of the best rebates I have ever seen offered to home owners. Both utilities have been offering weatherization rebates to home owners for months but in March 2007 the really beefed up the offering. Here is what is available. Questar is giving a $.35 per square foot rebate for home owners adding R-19 rated insulation to their attic. Rocky Mountain Power is adding another $.35 per square foot but only if you have central-air conditioning. That's a $.70 per square foot rebate. For an average 1,000 square foot of main floor living space that is a rebate of $700.00.

How do you qualify?

Most homes that were built prior to 1980 that have not added additional insulation since the home was built would qualify for the Questar rebate. The same criteria is true for Rocky Mountain Power with the additional requirement of having central-air installed in the home. And of course you have to be able to access the attic to add the insulation.

How do you get the rebate?
