This, I noticed today , on a new REO listing that just came up in my town. We all know the problems these days with keys that "walk away," or, doors that get left unlocked, but here is one agent's warning.  Maybe its been a bad day, but I found this hilarious:

"DO NOT LEAVE ANY DOOR UNLOCKED-Do not steal the key from lockbox; Do not forget to replace

lockbox face-- Back door is tricky,so if you are not good at problem solving, don't open it!

I often place interesting comments in the confidential showing instructions of the listing and find that many agents find them humerous and light hearted.

I have had problems with missing keys and lockbox combo being changed.  I can understand the frustration this agent is having and why he would post what he did.

Haha, to most of us as good agents this is a funny warning but I am almost certain there are some people who need that reminder not to take the key, lockbox face, etc.  Thanks for sharing!

Humorous post!  I frequently call agents to tell them about missing keys, broken lock boxes, broken locks, etc.  Generally I ask them to call me and confirm that they received the message.  Guess what?  Most agents do not return the calls.

Catherine,

Ilove Robert's idea of putting something humorous in the agent only...although with my sense of humor they might think I have gone over the deep end or something...

I loved that.  Of course I can problem solve but even if I could not the curiosity is going to get to me so I am going to open it.

That's pretty funny!  One of the brokers here, who handles most of the HUD business, told me he usually goes through 5+ keys on the "GOOD" houses. They use combo lockboxes and apparently the keys "magically" disappear when offers are put in.

She is getting her point out there.  I like when you open the door and there is an alarm tone and no code in the lockbox.  I have done that one twice.

That's funny - My biggest pet peeve is when agents send offers without calling warning me that they are going to fax in an offer so I state in the MLS "Please call before faxing offers". What can I say, 'my' fax machine is at the office and not at home, although I am a housewife/mother/Realtor/college student and work mostly from home. The last two times that I received an offer, my colleague had to call me to tell me that I received a faxed in offer, so it is funny how Realtors do things without being conscience of daily real estate routine and activities. Loved the Realtors humor in the MLS. Nice post and to the point!

Or the comment that is listed and says "door is open, but do not tell anyone". Okkkk ...

Catherine, I love this, it would make me laugh, break up the day and also warn me that with my very limited mechanical skills I should stick with the front door... ;-)
