I mean almost 3 years...300,000..the long term commitment..and on many occasions this milestone and commitment..has lasted longer than many of my past boyfriends, some friendships or even jobs I have held.

I ask myself so what does it mean and what have I learned?

It's means....

  • Without readers I can honestly say I probably would have stopped a long time ago...
  • That as time goes on we end up improving whether we are experts of SEO or not..
  • In most instances..the comments are by far much more valuable than the post would ever be!
  • "There is no place like home, regardless of what other's think and do!"
  • More business...more opportunities and friends who I love dearly.
  • Talent crushes...to wannabee's to some fond memories face to face..on the phone in posts and in emails.

So what have I learned

  • It has never or will ever be about me...
  • That love affairs...business and friendships can all be blended together.
  • Points..comments, features matter but people matter the most!
  • Some judge and are judged just like real life
  • I miss those and sometimes wish some are closer to me rather than many states away
  • Bloggers come and go and big dawgs change frequently
  • Hiding behind the keyboard is not uncommon
  • Bloggers who bully probably are not that much different as they are in person.
  • It takes all kinds to build a community...just like our neighborhoods..our cities and across the Globe!
  • It's hard to take back words when they are cached on the web.
  • My ideas are not always the most important or the best but meant to be shared...discussed and as a community we often times come up with something better.
  • I learned some hold a very special place in my heart..and I am thankful everyday..even if I do not tell them!
  • Your posts, your network is only as good as the people that you surround yourself with including our virtual worlds that sometimes becomes very real.  With real emotion...with real words..from real people!
  • Some will love you while not all will embrace your words and some will not be your fan...some stand on the sidelines..very much like real life.. but the community has taught me...."we is better than me especially when someone is in need!"
  • That things you once believed really aren't that important..in time everything changes...and all of you has helped me to understand and embrace change better prepared.
  • Those that debate...we love to hate but in truth I appreciate more than they will ever know..it keeps many of us on our toes and most of all challenges our way of thinking.
  • Some of the best education I ever received...as been on Activerain!
  • My favorite time of the day...reading all of you!

We cry together...we laugh and love..we fight and debate but one thing is certain...to me nothing is more powerful than Activerain...and the community of people who I hold dear in my heart!

I could sit and link to those that I have bonded with...argued with but I won't...Friends

Because each contributor is important and just like any other day..whether it is a milestone or not... Activerain is you..and me...and without this great big community...

There would be no milestones...fewer friends...and more time on my hands to do other things instead of growing my business and expanding my horizons.

Does that mean I am eligible for the Platinum group or will I have to go through a stringent credit and background check? I swear no copy and pasting..or plagiarizing here!

Thank you Activerain community members and readers!

And as long as you keep reading...I'll keep writing!

Congrats on the 300,000 milestone.  You certainly have developed a following because of your strong presence towards education, high minded thoughts, compassion, and friendships established by visiting other posts.  So thrilled I was attracted to your post and I feel that the state borders have melted away with great words, connection of similar thoughts and passions.  I am sure you will always have many, many readers and many points more to score!  You are selected as Featured Posts for a reason, your excellence!

Midori- Congratulations to you :)  I remember reading something from Laurie Mannie a while back that said she saw in you something that was special, and helped you gain your confidence.  It was, and is, these types of people that help us get to our milestones, and help us become good community members caring about what happens to each other.  And you're right, even with the disagreements, fights, debates, and everything else....this is one community of people that care.  I'm glad I found you, or you found me a long time ago ;)

Midori, You have achieved a wonderful milestone and your post was just beautiful.  I agree, without the comments and encouragement I would have left as well.  As much as I love Activerain for business, it's the friendships that I come back for.

Midori, congrats on the 300k!

It means you have carpel tunnel syndrome and a love affair with the keyboard!

you are so right, it is about giving, and in giving you get back a lot. I know if I did not get comments or at least see that my blogs are viewed I would not be as apt to stick around!

Justin-that is the main reason why I am here! :)

Terri-I never thought I would get here but this year..I set goals! :)

Connie-very humbled!  Right back at you!

Petra-that is a very good question and that is why it took me so long to respond to this because I was thinking about your question and the answer is yes...My theory would be the more the merrier and with the numbers the way they are now..trust me your chances are much better...I believe people who join today have such a big benefit and have the ability to learn very quickly.

I notice newbies picking it up ..yeah they make mistakes but then again I just spammed all of my facebook friends.. but they build relationships rather quickly compared to back then.  I tried to get in there in the beginning...I was chicken..but a few things happened to change that and I think when you are on any network for a little bit someone will befriend you..someone will agree..or even notice you.  So yes I would do it now..and I  would just do a few things differently...

Tony Marriott  The Lovely Wife and Colleen Kulkowski made me feel very much part of the network in the early days!   The lovely wife is still buzzing around..Get well soon! :)

People used to make fun of me and they still do...they just said I embrace this because I was a geek...nope it had nothing to do with being a geek..I just see the writing on the wall...I see opportunity...I see the numbers..and I see the globe..and I know REALTORS..many will not embrace it..it just makes more opportunity for those that will!

I know I like adding to my subscriber lists..newbies..I think sometimes that is what we all need an email or a phone call..or even a nice post about them.. ...a reminder of one of the reasons why we are all here... a big part of why I am here is to build relationships and generate business.

I love our interractions and I thank you! :)

Kathy-I missed that post and can I tell you to me Laurie Manny is the glamourous Hollywood blogger, then there is the Perky Kristal Kraft..and The Mohito Making Ines and Rick..Blunt Broker Bryant and Colleen Kulikowski she's my blogging mom..I have a huge list of people with distinct blogging names.. and how they impacted me..Tiny Theresa Boardman..Magnificient Missy.  Jeff Turner...Sarah Cooper, Chris Elizabeth..pinch me..I learned with them..now that is a journey!  There is a little bit of them in me..everyone one of them!

I can't remember who found who but I am glad we found one another!  After talking with you on the phone..your posts had new meaning...and I could really appreciate them more!

Justin-nice to see you and yes I am connected wherever I go! :)

Jason-thank you coming from you now that is a real compliment!  Sooner or later I'll make it to Twitter Tuesday..its seems my whole life every week happens on a Tuesday!

Hey Midori!

Congratulations on the milestone.  I have been on AR for just over one week.  This is what 300,000 points tells me about you in regards to your business:

1)  You are disciplined and committed to what you are doing (posting CONSISTENTLY has been just as hard as any amount of lecturing or cold calling that I have ever done)

2)  You are knowledgable in what you are doing -- By reading posts and writing them yourself, you stay current, on top of the market and are constantly re-analyzing what you are doing by following others

This does not mean that you spring out of bed every single day or do not want hang up the phone sometimes wanting to choke someone (lol).  But it does show a commitment to what you are doing and staying current on the market, which, in my opinion, is the best way to keep your business current.
